About

Hi. Here is some information about the owner. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems with a concentration in Web Development. I am 6 classes away from my Master’s Degree in Software Engineering. I hope to go back to school in the near future to start finishing up those last six classes.

I am currently getting work through my website, referrals and a couple of freelancing sites.  I picked up a couple of website projects to do right after getting laid and have kept busy since then.  I specialize in WordPress and also help with Hack Recovery.

My last position was for Advanced Physical Therapy of Central Florida.  My position was Software Developer and I started out building them a new app to run their business.  It was an interesting project but I was soon pulle doff of it to do other work.  I converted all of their sites to WordPress. I then became the company’s only IT person.  That entailed a lot of systems administration work along with tech support for all 6 locations and over 100 employees.  The company was bought out by Cora Health Systems.  They took over at the start of July, 2019.  They kept me on for the month of July for the transition and then I was laid off as they already had their own IT staff.

While at Advanced Physical Therapy I added Certificates in HIPAA Awareness for Healthcare Providers(expires 1-30-21) and HIPAA Security(expires 1-31-21).

My previous position was for 3 years 8 months, starting in June of 2014 for That Company, an Internet marketing company in Leesburg, Florida. I was a systems adminsitrator/web developer. I made sure our servers kept running smoothly and handled any hacks or hack attempts that occur. I did web development work for our internal sites and some of our clients. They had about 15 servers at their main location and scattered around the country. They had a over a hundred websites hosted on those servers for themselves and their clients. The company does SEO (search engine optimization), PPC (pay per click advertising), SMM (social media marketing) and Reputation Management. They mostly do White Label work for other businesses and are growing quickly since going in that direction. They decided to get away from Web Development a while back and my position changed into a systems administration job.  They are now in the process of getting rid of all of their servers and thus I was laid off and my position eliminated.  I still had great reviews and they are giving me a very good referral.

I learned a lot working there for the last three plus years. I have become proficient with WordPress. I have learned Joomla as I have done quite a few Joomla to WordPress migrations. When I started I had only done a couple of minor sites with WordPress and knew next to nothing about Joomla. That is no longer the case.

When I was first laid off I used my new free time to add some certifications from W3 Schools. I now have W3Schools certifications in HTML(passed with Excellence 2-14-2018), CSS(passed with Excellence 2-14-2018), JavaScript(passed with Excellence 2-21-2018), jQuery(2-21-2018 94%) and PHP(SQL)(2-21-2018 90%).  Passed with Excellence is awarded for test scores of 95% or higher.

I am also currently taking the W3Schools tutorials on ASP/ASP.NET, Node.js and Angular.js. When I finish a couple of them I will take the tutorials for Bootstrap which I am already fairly familiar with. I am hoping to then start a Microsoft Front End Developer Course and work on a MCSE Certification followed by a MCSD certificate for Web Developers. I don’t know if I can get that finished before I start back to school to finish my Master’s degree so the schedule could change. What won’t change is that I will always be taking courses in something that will advance my mastery of the field. I really enjoy learning new things and will continue to do so.
